about bad club
BAD started in June 2001 with a handful of people who wanted to start a club on the Southside of Brisbane to cater for Dog Agility Enthusiasts. With the help and support from the Australian Agility Dog Association (ADAA), BAD grew from the original eight founding members, a few jumps and a borrowed tunnel, to a strong agility club. Apart from the addition of new equipment and new faces, very little has changed.
We train at the Clem Jones Centre (Cricket Oval) on Wednesday nights and it is still a great place to come and have fun with your dog. We promote positive reinforcement training, through the use of Clickers and our instructors are familar with many internationally recognised training methods and handling practices.
The BAD club now holds three agility competitions per year with dogs from Gympie to Coffs Harbour competing. We would like to thank our previous sponsors "Purina","Big Dog Pet Foods", "Scotties" and Pet City for providing prizes for these competitions. We are currently looking for sponsors for competitions in 2007.
A special thanks also goes to the main driving force for starting the club - Sali & Greg Mann and Maria & Gordon Thiry. Sali & Greg have since left the club for New Zealand, however Maria and Gordon still hold positions in the executive committee.
