Training Classes

BAD Club offers four levels of training classes - Beginners, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced. Each level has a particular focus and the content of the classes is outlined below.

Please note that BAD Club uses only positive training methods to teach new behaviours - no harsh handling or harsh corrections will be tolerated.
Beginners The focus of this 8 week course is to teach our dogs how to learn and to focus on their handler. Handlers are introduced to shaping as a technique to teach new behaviours and the correct use of the clicker. Dogs are introduced to many agility obstacles (low jumps, tunnels, tyre, broad jump as well as low height contact equipment and weavers).
Novice This 8 week course builds on from the Beginners course. The height of the jumps and contact equipment is raised to full height, dogs are introduced to the see-saw and handlers learn handling and turns such as the front cross, rear cross and false turn.
Intermediate The Intermediate class runs every week and focusses on putting together sequences of 6 - 8 obstacles. Dogs in this class are proficient on all pieces of equipment and the focus is on handling and turns.
Advanced The Advanced class focusses on advanced level handling and sequencing. The majority of the dogs in this class are competing regularly at the highest level of ADAA agility.
